Local Research Induction Programme

Background

Background

At present, a formal training programme does not exist for professional research staff in UCD. This leads to inconsistency in the advice and support received by researchers on the ground and can make it difficult for new professional research staff to navigate the many teams and systems associated with  UCD Research. This project seeks to address some of the pain points and issues highlighted in numerous engagements such as UCD Research Managers and Administrators Network (URMAN) and the Research Culture survey.

Project Objective

This project will look to develop and implement an induction programme tailored for staff who provide professional administrative support to research programmes in our schools and colleges. It will also aim to provide an opportunity for key central supports to connect with and support the local research administrative community.

Project Benefits

Project Team

Within the portfolio of the Research Service Lead, this project is supported by the UCD POST team and UCD People and Development. Other key stakeholders are UCD Research and Research Finance.
