Alice Clancy is an Assistant Professor in Architecture at University College Dublin. Alice worked as an architect internationally before expanding her practice into architectural photography and curation. Her work focuses on the careful and considered communication of architectural design, practice and ideas, in order to facilitate engagement by a wide audience with the built environment and the processes involved in designing it. Her work has been published nationally and internationally. She was selected to work on the curatorial team of the Biennale Architettura 2018 by the curators, Yvonne Farrell and Shelley McNamara of Grafton Architects. Since 2019 she has been working as project assistant on the proposed Centre for Creativity building at UCD.
Alice is passionate about teaching and has been working at UCD Architecture in a part-time capacity since 2008. She has taught, lectured and reviewed at QUB, UL, CIT, NCAD and TUD. At UCD, she coordinates Stage 2 design studio, lectures in photography and contributes to other architectural studio and seminar modules. She has been instrumental in collaborating with studio colleagues in UCD, TUD and QUB to develop architectural studio pedagogy and has won a College Level teaching award.
