New ‘Research’ Section on School of Veterinary Medicine Website
The School has just launched a new ‘Research’ section on its website. The new section has been designed to make it as easy as possible for visitors to the site to access information and updates on research taking place in the School and to find out more about our researchers. The new section also includes information on undergraduate research and will allow our community to keep up to date on new research initiatives such as the Clinical Research Board.

Dr Robin Farrell, Director of Veterinary Nursing, Presents at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Conference
Dr Robin Farrell, Director of the School’s Veterinary Nursing Programme, was an invited guest speaker at the American College of Veterinary Surgeons Conference in Louisville, Kentucky last October. Robin was a member of a small expert panel of veterinary educationalists invited to share best practices in surgical skills education; Robin spoke on the topic of ‘The Value and Use of Formative Assessment in Teaching Surgical Skills.’

UCD Centre for Veterinary Epidemiology & Risk Analysis (CVERA)
The latest paper by Madden et al has been published in Preventive Veterinary Medicine. The open access paper "The impact of changing the cut-off threshold of the interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) assay for diagnosing bovine tuberculosis in Ireland" was co-authored by colleagues in UCD CVERA, DAFM, the University of Limerick Department of Mathematics and Statistics and the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine.
