Minding Your Wellbeing Lunch

Thank You Event held for 'Minding Your Wellbeing' Facilitators

Minding Your Wellbeing facilitators photographed on the stairs in the Veterinary Sciences CentreThe UCD School of Veterinary Medicine initiated a pilot delivery of 'Minding Your Wellbeing' for our Stage 1 undergraduate Veterinary Medicine students in 2023/24.

This course has been designed by the Health Service Executive (HSE), and its delivery is part of research being conducted by the National Suicide Research Foundation (NSRF) in collaboration with the UCD School of Veterinary Medicine, the Veterinary Council of Ireland, HSE Mental Health & Wellbeing and the HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP).

At the end of August 2023, the HSE trained 20 UCD faculty and staff from all over the University, including staff and faculty from our School, to deliver the programme. This pilot is being evaluated with a view to extending the roll-out in future years to other areas of the University. The inclusion in the veterinary curriculum of a wellbeing strand will also be expanded into next years of the programme.

Pictured above are some of our wonderful 'Minding Your Wellbeing' facilitators who joined us in the School of Veterinary Medicine on Tuesday 12 December - the School hosted a lunch event to say 'Thank You' to all of our colleagues for taking part in this important initiative.
