Message from the Programme Director

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the first in a series of monthly POST programme updates where we will report on some of the transformation initiatives taking place across the University. This is a chance to shine a light on the good work of our colleagues working on these projects and the changes they are making.  

As we approach the end of what has been a highly productive year, and a year full of change both within and outside UCD, I would like to thank you all for your input and engagement with the POST programme. 

Transforming how we experience and deliver these supports and services in our large and complex University takes time, effort, persistence and patience. This year, we have laid the foundations in achieving this and have begun supporting both FinPOST and University CRM, as well as other community-driven transformation projects.

Through all of this we have positioned ourselves for success and delivery next year, supported by persistence and patience, energised by ambition.

Mature Applicant Assessment
Mature Applicant Assessment

The Admissions team in UCD Registry, in collaboration with colleagues across Colleges and Schools, has developed a new scoring system for the assessment of mature applicants for 2024. This approach has already been piloted on several applications this year. In the coming months, the team will be hosting information sessions and training for all programme areas to demonstrate the new process and to address any queries. Additionally, updated Mature Entry Requirements for September 2024 are now available online and can be viewed by clicking this link.
Programme Development, Approval & Review Framework (PDARF) Project.
Programme Development, Approval & Review Framework (PDARF) Project.

This project, led by the Customer & Curriculum Operations Unit in Registry, aims to streamline and digitise the process for submitting and approving proposals for new and existing programmes. The first phase is nearing completion, with the digitisation of the PDARF 2 and 3 forms now undergoing user acceptance testing. If you're a frequent user of these forms, expect to see these changes go live early next year. We'll continue to keep you posted as the project advances

Finance Programme for Operations and Services Transformation (FinPOST)
Finance Programme for Operations and Services Transformation (FinPOST)

Work on this programme is progressing steadily. The planning phase is drawing to a close and work on designing new finance processes will begin in earnest in the new year. Workday, a leading Cloud -based system has been selected as our new finance system and we will configure, build and test the system in 2024 ahead of a go-live in 2025. We will continue to keep our community updated as to FinPOST’s progress as the programme moves forward.
