Research Survey on Insects in Animal Feed

Researchers from UCD School of Veterinary Medicine, IT Sligo and GMIT are conducting a study to determine the views of Irish consumers and farmers toward the use of insect-based feed for animals. They are looking for participants to complete a survey and would appreciate your support. The survey will take only 10 - 15 minutes to complete.

PhD Student Hannah Brown Wins First Prize at Graduate Research Symposium

Congratulations to Hannah Brown (and to her PhD supervisor Nicola Fletcher), who won first prize for her oral presentation at the UCD College of Health & Agricultural Sciences Graduate Research Student Symposium.  Hannah spoke on the topic ’Novel in vitro and ex vivo models for investigating Hepatitis E virus infection,’ describing aspects of her PhD studies.  Hannah is a very talented communicator, and presented her work with interest, clarity and considerable passion. The audience learned a great deal about Hepatitis E, ex vivo models and fine slicing of livers!

North-South Grant Award for Professor David Brayden

Congratulations to Professor David Brayden and his team who have been awarded a grant under the North-South Research Programme for their project 'RALA nanocomplexes as a platform to mediate oral delivery of peptides using insulin as a prototype (PEPDELIVER).'  Professor Brayden shares this success with co-applicant Professor Helen McCarthy from Queens University Belfast and collaborator Professor Nick Dunne from Dublin City University.
