We are celebrating the 2026 (opens in a new window)F.G. Houtermans Award from the European Association of Geochemistry awarded to Dr Alan Seltzer, Ad Astra Fellow and Assistant Professor at UCD School of Earth Sciences. This award recognizes exceptional contributions to geochemistry by an early career scientist. Alan Seltzer is recognized for his achievements in the fields of hydrology, marine chemistry, climate science, and mantle geochemistry. In particular, he developed novel ultra-high precision analytical methods, which led to important recent discoveries in these fields of study. Alan currently leads the School of Earth Sciences research programme focused on tracer-based approaches to understanding groundwater systems.
