The Schools within the UCD College of Social Sciences and Law offer a range of graduate scholarships to prospective and current students

The College of Social Sciences and Law offers the following fee waiver from individual Schools in relation to full fee support for access student with economic needs.

MSc Scholarships for Current or Recent UCD Students

UCD School of Economics are pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for our 2022/23 MSc programmes for current and former UCD Economics students. Learn More.

PhD Scholarships

These PhD Scholarships will comprise an annual tax-free stipend of €15,000 plus a full waiver of fees.

  1. The UCD School of Education is offering two Professional Master of Education (PME) - 50% fee reduction scholarships.
  2. In addition the school is offering 9 PATH Bursaries (5 worth €3,000 fee remission each and 4 worth fee remission €1,500 each) to eligible students. For enquiries in relation to these scholarships contact: education@ucd.ie

PhD Scholarships

The School of Geography is currently offering two PhD scholarships (EU fee rate waiver for up to four years).

UCD Sutherland School of Law offers a number of scholarships for Doctoral, Masters and LLM programmes.  Full details of the following scholarships can be viewed on the Sutherland School of Law website.

Jean Hogan MA Memorial Scholarship

The School of Philosophy has introduced an annual scholarship in memory of one of our MA students who passed away recently.  Jean Hogan was an outstanding student who overcame very difficult personal circumstances to do the MA.  The scholarship is open to anyone applying to an MA in Philosophy, Philosophy and Public Affairs, Philosophy and Literature, Consciousness and Embodiment, Contemporary European Philosophy, Ethics: Theory and Practice. The scholarship is a fee waiver up the value of EU fees of €7990.  MA applicants who wish to be considered for this award will be asked to specify this in their personal statements submitted with their MA application.  The successful applicant will have an outstanding academic track record to date.  The selection criterion for the scholarship will be quality of this track record, determined by the information provided in the candidate’s application for the MA. Applications from candidates who have overcome difficult circumstances to pursue their studies are particularly welcomed. Learn more

MA Newman Scholarship

UCD School of Philosophy is pleased to announce one Scholarship is available for students applying to the MA in Philosophy (General Programme), with the commitment to write their MA dissertation on an aspect of the work or legacy of John Henry Newman. The scholarship will provide a significant contribution to the cost of tuition fees (minimum 50% and up to a possible 100%).  This Scholarship is open to Irish, EU and International applicants.  MA Entrance Awards

Up to two competitive entrance awards ​of €1000 will be offered to students who have been admitted to the UCD Philosophy MA Programme. In the academic year 2021-2022 priority will be given to MA Programme applicants in Contemporary European Philosophy and Ethics: Theory and Practice. Applicants to those programmes will be automatically considered for an MA Entrance Award. Learn more.

SPIRe Masters Graduate Scholarship

SPIRe offers Masters scholarships each year. These are open to full-time EU and non-EU applicants and comprise a full fee remission of the scheduled EU fee of the programme to which they are registered.

The overall aim of the SPIRe Graduate Scholarship scheme is to attract applicants of the highest academic standards to participate in their Masters and to provide them with the training, experience and mentorship necessary to their professional development.

Masters Graduate Scholarship

UCD Iseult Honohan Doctoral Scholarship
This PhD  scholarship, named after Dr  Iseult Honohan, is  open to  EU and  non- EU  applicants and covers  full fees as well as a living stipend of €17,000 per  year for up to four years.  Learn more

30% Club Scholarship 

UCD College of Social Sciences and Law in partnership with the 30% Club is offering a scholarship opportunity for the Master in Public Policy to one female candidate. Mary Kelly Bursary

The Mary Kelly Bursaries comprise an award of €2,000 towards university fees to students who have been accepted to one of the School of Sociology one-year 90 credit taught masters programmes. Learn More.
