We are pleased to announce that the IChemE has accredited all core degree pathways submitted for review in the UCD School of Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering, namely:

  1. BE, Chemical & Bioprocess Engineering (NQS2)
  2. BE, Chemical Engineering with Biochemical Engineering Minor (NCW1/NLI1)
  3. ME, Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering (T309), with entry via

All programmes have been accredited at the “M-standard” by the IChemE. This level of accreditation meets in full the academic requirements for Chartered Chemical Engineer. Prof Eoin Casey, Head of School said “I am delighted to that our degree programmes continue to receive this recognition. The IChemE accreditation benchmarks academic programmes against internationally recognised standards. This is of increasing importance as the employers of our graduates operate in a global market. I would like to thank all staff in the school, past and present, for the work they have put into making our programmes meet this excellent standard” The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) is the global professional membership organisation for the discipline and accredits more than 50 university programmes in 13 countries. Through accreditation, IChemE seeks to raise standards in chemical engineering education, encourage innovation in course programme design and delivery, while promoting the development of the wider profession.
