Access & Reporting 1.0- Pilot Project
Over the past four years the UCD Operations Group has been tasked with looking at UCD’s operational processes that support students and staff as highlighted in the SASR consultation phase.
Our first project topic of ‘Access & Reporting’ surveyed the UCD administrative and professional community and found that over 90% of respondents expressed that information events would be ‘helpful in fulfilling their role’. This prompted our first information series designed with central units, to which you may be familiar, as either a presenter or as one of the 200+ participants in attendance at the five information sessions.
These covered the areas of Admissions, Curriculum, HR, Finance and UCD Global from 2019-2020 (below). The workshops and community brainstorming events provided central units with the opportunity to supply staff with information on reporting available, address access queries raised and suggested plans for any future developments in the unit’s area during the 90 minute structured session.
These workshops were widely received as a huge success, mutually for units and frontline staff. Their feedback contributed in guiding each units' plans for development over the next two years, with a record of over 100 recommendations acknowledged.
Staff have successfully influenced the development of work and project initiatives within the areas of the Infohub reporting catalogue, year-round training, zoom drop ins & further documented supports, the roll out of online forms for tutors & demonstrators in 2020 and the enhancement of reporting in terms of gender and reference submission facility to name a few.
