What is PPI?

Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) is an approach to research that fosters collaboration between people with lived experiences, researchers, and research institutions. The goal of PPI is to improve research and increase the ability of research to make a positive impact.

From understanding PPI, to planning, costing and assessing your practice, there is a growing repository of resources available for you to use.

PPI Ignite Network @ UCD is part of the National PPI Ignite Network promoting excellence and inspiring innovation in public and patient involvement in health and social care research in Ireland. The Network provides a shared voice for PPI across Ireland, and aims to change the research culture to improve health outcomes for the public.

UCD have announced their partnership with the European Patients’ Academy on Therapeutic Innovation (EUPATI) supported through the PPI Ignite Network at UCD.
