NovaUCD Partnering in New Collaborate DLR Initiative

NovaUCD is partnering with Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Enterprise Ireland, and IADT in a new initiative called Collaborate DLR. The aim of Collaborate DLR is to build a strong regional identity and community for businesses within the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (DLR) county.

Collaborate DLR’s inaugural event, which will be opened by An Cathaoirleach Mary Hanafin, takes place on 26 October (8 am – 10 am) in The Pavilion, Leopardstown Racecourse and will be MCed by Bobby Kerr, entrepreneur and TV and radio commentator.

The event aims to provide DLR companies with the contacts and knowledge of how to engage with public bodies such as Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Enterprise Ireland, NovaUCD and IADT to develop and build out a business and product strategy in a cost-effective way for long term growth. The event is the start of a strategic programme by the the Collaborate DLR partners to signpost and support DLR businesses to reach their potential. 

During the event a number of speakers, including Mitchell O’Gorman, CEO, xWave Technologies, a healthtech start-up headquartered at NovaUCD, Denise Cullen, Managing Director, Enterprise Solutions, Paul McCarthy, CEO, Snapfix and Brendan Kiely, CEO and co-founder, ThinScale Technology will share their experiences on engaging with the Collaborate DLR partners to support their growth plans and ambitions.

A panel discussion, chaired by Bobby Kerr, will provide attendees with an opportunity to hear more about the various grants, training and supports offered by Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Enterprise Ireland, NovaUCD and IADT to DLR companies.

Panel speakers include, Emma Leahy, Vice-President of Research, Development and Innovation, IADT; Tom Flanagan, Director of Enterprise and Commercialisation, NovaUCD; Owen Laverty, Head of Enterprise and Economic Development, DLR County Council and Enda McDonnell, Enterprise Ireland.
