New Automotive Engineering teacher joins CDIC

Dr Muhammad Sajid

Muhammad Sajid received a B.Eng. degree from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), a Master’s degree from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts et Métiers (ENSAM) Paris Tech, France, and a PhD degree from the University of Cergy Pontoise, France. He completed postdoctoral research at Texas A&M University, Qatar. There after he served in the Mechanical Engineering Department of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan where he established the Artificial Intelligence for Mechanical Systems (AIMS) laboratory and won institutional awards for Best Researcher as well as for Best Teacher. He has authored over 50 peer reviewed publications and his current focus of research is towards integration of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence with mechanical engineering problems by exploiting cloud-based infrastructure for high performance computing, leading to applications in external aerodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer, as well as renewable and sustainable energy production.
The Bridge Design Competition has strongly stimulated the design passion of students and has been warmly welcomed and recognized by students of previous years. This year, the bearing weight of the first prize works created a new record. Through such a way, the students deepened their understating on design knowledge and practiced their skills in teamwork.
