University of Sanctuary
UCD has been awarded the University of Sanctuary status. The Sanctuary Award is an initiative of (opens in a new window)University of Sanctuary Ireland (UoSI) to encourage and celebrate the good practice of universities, colleges and institutes welcoming refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants into their university communities.
University of Sanctuary sub-group has been established to oversee the implementation of the commitments made by UCD under its University of Sanctuary status and to engage with the National University of Sanctuary Ireland Committee. The group addresses the wider challenges experienced by those who are from a refugee, asylum seeking and other forced migration background and investigate the development of a process in relation to academics from a forced migration background coming to UCD.
