Overview
UCD’s vision for EDI is to be a leader and role model in equality and diversity in the higher education sector nationally and internationally, and for EDI to be at the heart of all we do. The EDI Training and Awareness Raising Programme was designed with UCD's values and (opens in a new window)strategic objectives in mind, specifically the values of diversity, excellence and collegiality and core objectives to "provide an inclusive educational experience" and to "attract, retain and develop an excellent and diverse cohort of students, faculty and staff." UCD has also committed to a number of actions around EDI-related training as part of its EDI Strategy 2021-2024 and Gender Equality Action Plan 2020-2024.
The EDI Training offerings, which are additional to the wider People Development training on offer in UCD, are specifically tailored for our UCD community based on UCD's EDI commitments and your feedback. The programme encompasses a variety of EDI-related training and awareness-raising sessions, delivered virtually and/or in person, including dignity and respect, gender identity, cross-cultural communication, unconscious bias awareness, gender equality and more. Some of the workshops are a great introduction to EDI topics to raise awareness, and others have been tailored for a particular audience, like for example people managers.
