“Data Driving Diversity: UCD National Data & Diversity Conference”
*** 13 March 2020 Update: UCD Data Driving Diversity Conference to be post-poned ***
Following careful consideration of a range of factors associated with the evolving COVID-19 situation, both nationally and internationally, the decision has been taken to postpone UCD's National Data Conference, “Data Driving Diversity”, that was scheduled to take place on 30 March 2020. This event would have involved significant travel for many of the conference attendees and speakers and we believe it is in the interest of all concerned that the event is postponed. UCD EDI will communicate the new date for this conference (early Autumn) as soon as it has been confirmed.
On Monday 30 March 2020, UCD is hosting a national conference on data and diversity in collaboration with the Higher Education Authority "Data Driving Diversity."
This Conference will focus on the importance of data in the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion sphere and, in particular, how it can inform better decision-making, identify priorities and lead to the enhancement of a more inclusive environment in the Higher Education sector.
Through a combination of keynote speakers, panel discussions and lightning presentations, this conference will cover the following:
- Target Setting
- Collection of EDI Data at National and Institutional Level
- Insights on Equality & Diversity Surveys
- How to use Data Analytics to Drive the Equality & Diversity Agenda
- Data: Best Practice Examples
The conference will feature a keynote address by Olivia McEvoy from EY Ireland who will share insights from the National EY Diversity & Inclusion Survey. In addition, there will be speakers from the Higher Education Authority Centre for Gender Excellence on national data collection and target-setting and from Cambridge University on using data analytics to measure and progress the equality and diversity agenda.

Data plays a key role in supporting institutions to prioritise key areas in the equality and diversity space and is essential in measuring the impact of equality and diversity initiatives. We are inviting presentations from delegates who are interested in sharing best practice examples on how data has helped to identify priorities, supported initiatives or has led to change in their institutions. If you would like to participate in a 3-to-5-minute presentation, please submit an expression of interest to email@example.com including your topic title and a short paragraph on what you will cover.
