A New Exhibition at Kilmainham Goal 9 February - 19 May 2019

LIVING INSIDE exhibition runs in Kilmainham Gaol

9 February - 19 May 2019

A story of pain and protest, change and continuity. The exhibition explores the different perspectives of six people whose lives were entangled in the history of prison reform in Ireland.

The exhibition draws the wealth of research the Dr Oisin Wall, UCD School of History, with photography by Derek Speirs and historical objects curated from Dubiln's Mountjoy Prison. The exhibition explores how prisons have shaped peoples' lives over the last 50 years and is part of the Wellcome Trust Project 'Prisoners, Medical Care, Entitlement to Health in England and Ireland 1850-2000' led by (opens in a new window)Associate Professor Catherine Cox, School of History, University College Dublin.
