Join us in November for two special papers on Irish and Canadian history, presented by two ICUF 2024-5 Dobbin Legacy Scholarship awardees.
Both events will take place in Room K114, Newman Building, and both are being hosted by the UCD Centre for War Studies and UCD School of History in partnership with the UCD Dobbin Centre for Canadian Studies and owing to the financial support of the Ireland-Canada University Foundation.
On Thursday 13th November @ 12pm, Dr Michael Vance (Saint Mary's University, Halifax) will present 'Irish Soldier Settlers in Atlantic Canada, c. 1818-1838', as part of the visiting scholars lunchtime lectures.
On Tuesday 18th November @ 4pm, Dr Paul Huddie (UCD) will present 'Ireland, Atlantic Canada and the Crimean War: imperial connectivity and share experiences?'. This paper will be one of three given by UCD School of History researchers under the theme of 'Global Encounters'.
