UCD Law Student Wins Irish Asylum Law Award

UCD Sutherland School of Law student, Isobel D’Arcy was the winner of the (opens in a new window)Irish Asylum Law Award 2016. The award, administered and sponsored by (opens in a new window)A & L Goodbody, in partnership with the (opens in a new window)Irish Refugee Council and UCD School of Law, Isobel is a first year student in UCD’s Masters of Common Law programme. Isobel’s submission to the Irish Asylum Law Award 2016 was noted by the judges for its exceptional clarity, clear knowledge and understanding of Irish asylum law, and expert use of legal materials. The judges were impressed with the suite of materials that Isobel engaged with and the exceptional legal analysis provided.  Margaret-Ann Gallagher (2 BCL (opens in a new window)Law with French Law) came in second place, and judges were impressed with the depth of clarity and research that Margaret displayed in her legal submission. UCD Sutherland School of Law congratulates both of our students for this wonderful success. Isobel was awarded a cash prize and will complete a placement and gain first hand insights into the work of the (opens in a new window)Irish Refugee Council Law Centre.
